Youth Enrichment Services
Serving the Communities of Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central Islip and West Islip
Our History

YES was founded in 1987 in the community of West Islip.  Our incorporated name is West Islip Youth Enrichment Services, Inc.  YES originally served only West Islip.  In 1991, the Town of Islip reorganized the Youth Bureau's delivery of youth services.  This reorganization resulted in YES providing services for youth and their families residing in the Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central Islip, and West Islip communities.  YES maintains office/program sites in all four communities working very closely with all of the school districts and other community organizations.

YES receives funding from the Federal Government, New York State Education Department, OCFS, Suffolk County Youth Beureau, Suffolk County, and the Town of Islip.  Grant initiatives include Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), Juvenile Justice Department,  AmeriCorps, Advantage After School Program, NYS Member Item Grants, and the Community Development Agency.  YES also receives special initiatives such as Gang Prevention, New York State 21st Century, Natural Helpers, Drug Free, etc.

Non-government funding sources include: Cablevision, Citibank, Computer Associates, JP Morgan Chase, Capital One Bank, Astoria Federal Savings, Motorola, Newsday - a McCormick Tribune Foundation, Sam's Club, Shop-Rite, Suffolk Transportation Services, The After School Corporation(TASC) and many other private resources.
