Mission Statement

Recognizing family and youth as our most valuable resources, COMPASS unites to:

• Reduce substance use among youth
  

• Create a strong collaboration within the community
  

• Cultivate healthy attitudes and behaviors
  

Goal #1 – To reduce the incidence of substance abuse among youth and adults by increasing protective factors and moving towards reversing and reducing known risk factors.

Goal #2 – To strengthen and broaden the Coalition and secure members’ commitment to understand, promote, and deliver substance abuse prevention strategies that enhance protective factors and reduce risk factors that impact on substance abuse of youth and adults in all settings (family, school, community).

Goal #3 – To enhance the Coalition’s efforts to influence community norms, availability of illegal substances, and regulations restricting sales of alcohol and tobacco to minors, and increase citizen actions to support these efforts, that are consistent with effective substance abuse prevention strategies in all settings (family, school and community).
